A career in the trades is not a back-up plan. The construction, manufacturing, and healthcare industries offer youth limitless possibilities.
Peer and societal pressure to obtain a college degree can push teens to pursue a field that is not necessarily in their best interest. This influence can create tunnel vision to follow a path that may not match students’ skills and passions.
We also know that youth are more open to sound advice from parents or authority figures when presented with information from a neutral third party. That’s where we come in with our gentle 3-part coaching program.
In collaboration with parents and mentors, we inform middle or high school students about different professions in the construction, manufacturing, and healthcare industries. We spotlight benefits (and there are so many!), career trajectory options, and educational requirements.
Students are unique, and so are our recommendations. Together, we’ll develop a plan based on their abilities, interests, and natural inclination. We start early so that young adults can prepare and make balanced choices when decision-time comes.
Give them a broader perspective right now, so they can accurately evaluate ALL possibilities for their future.
